Stargate HermitageStargate Hermitage - 2005A Brief HistoryLocated in Wichita, Kansas, Stargate Hermitage is the honorary home of the Chivalry for Children program. Built by hand of native Kansas limestome, Stargate Hermitage is the life-long discipline of S. Lawrence, whose love of Medieval European history, art, culture, and clothing inspired her to construct this sanctuary in the backyard of her home. According to her April 1991 interview with the Wichita Eagle newspaper: "This", she said "is my Bliss." The creation of the tower was used by Ms. Lawrence as therapy in her decades long struggle with a degenerative neurological disease. As such, it represents the triumph of human spirit over material difficulties. The etheric beauty of this sanctuary inspires nearly everyone who is priviledged to visit. Since the tower was completed, Ms. Lawrence has expanded her Dream to include another structure. In 1999, Elizabeth Gomes, priest of St James Episcopal Church, sanctified the ground...and in 2003, the Chapel of the Angels was born. |
